Decide where you want support

A bed wedge creates a broad inclined surface on top of the mattress. It can be positioned for upper-body resting, reading in bed or supporting the legs, following the product instructions. It is a different shape from a small knee pillow, a pregnancy bump wedge or a sitting wedge for an office chair.

Our Putnams bed wedge has two choices to make: width and surface material. Start with the space you need, then choose the feel you prefer. Changing the material does not change the intended use into a different kind of support.

61 cm or 91.5 cm wide?

A wider wedge gives a wider surface, not a steeper incline. Neither of these options is a full double-bed width. The manufacturer offers additional sizes elsewhere, but only the sizes in our product selector are available to order from this listing.

Measure rather than assuming a size name will fit. Consider the space used by your shoulders or legs, the position of your ordinary pillow and any partner sharing the bed. Dimensions are approximate, and soft materials can vary slightly.

Standard foam, memory foam or graphite latex?

Standard foam is the original supportive foam construction and the lowest-priced option in our range. Choose it if you want the wedge shape without a different comfort material across the top.

Memory foam replaces the top inch with a material that contours gradually under contact. It changes the surface feel while retaining the wedge’s listed dimensions.

Graphite latex replaces that top inch with latex containing graphite. It is another surface choice, rather than an extra layer of height. As it contains latex, check suitability if material sensitivity affects your choice.

There is no measured “best” material in this guide. The cards link to each 61 cm material option so you can compare current prices. Select 91.5 cm on the product page if you want the wider version; that selection changes the price.

How to position and care for this wedge

1. Place it on top of a stable mattress with the broad flat base supported.
2. For upper-body use, follow the product photographs to arrange the gradual slope beneath the torso, with the higher end towards the head of the bed.
3. Adjust your ordinary head pillow for comfort rather than building a tall unstable stack.
4. Check that you feel comfortable and can reposition freely. Stop using a position that causes discomfort.

The removable polycotton cover can be cleaned according to its sewn-in instructions. Remove it from the foam before washing and let it dry fully before refitting. A washable cover does not mean the foam core is machine washable.

Choosing for reflux, snoring or recovery

People often search for a wedge because lying flat is uncomfortable. The purchasing question is still whether its shape and dimensions suit the position you have been advised to use. This guide does not prescribe a medical angle or promise that a wedge will resolve symptoms.

If you have ongoing reflux, snoring, breathing symptoms or specific post-operative instructions, check with your healthcare professional before selecting a support. A general comfort product should not replace treatment or an individual positioning plan.
