Product details

Ultra-soft teddy fabric in ivory, and a recline that happens at the touch of a button, without moving the baby asleep on your chest. The Madison Electric is the chair for long nights, slow mornings and every feed in between.

A motor Obaby describes as nearly silent does the reclining. The base glides and swivels, and charging ports beside the recline button keep your phone topped up within reach.

How it moves

Electric recline: The button on the armrest reclines the back and raises the footrest. Obaby describes the motor as nearly silent.
Glide: A smooth glide on metal ball bearings.
Swivel: Turns through 180° on its base, as Obaby lists it for the Teddy colours.
Charging: USB and USB-C ports next to the recline button.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a nursery chair or glider?

A nursery chair (often a glider or nursing chair) is seating designed for feeding and settling a baby — stable base, supportive back, and a motion that is calmer than a loose lounge chair.

Which nursery chair type should I choose?

Swivel glider recliners turn on their base, glide and lean back; electric recliners recline at the press of a button; glider and footstool sets come with a matching stool; rockers give a classic rock. Choose the motion you want, then check the upright size and reclined length against your room.

Is a glider better than a nursing chair rocker?

A glider moves back and forth on its base, so the chair itself stays in place; a rocker tips on curved runners or a rocking base. Neither suits everyone: compare the motion and the size in Will it fit? on this page.

Which colours does this chair come in?

This chair comes in Bouclé, Teddy Ivory and Teddy Truffle. Choose a colour just above Add to basket.

Is delivery included?

Nursery chairs in this range include free delivery to the United Kingdom as stated at checkout.

Can I use a pregnancy pillow with a nursery chair?

Yes — a pregnancy or feeding pillow on your lap pairs well with a glider for night feeds; many parents keep a U-shaped pillow after birth for that reason.

How much room does the Madison Electric need?

Upright, it measures W 74 × D 97 × H 99 cm. Fully reclined, it is 160 cm from headrest to footrest, so measure the floor in front of where it will sit. The seat is 50 cm high and 53 cm wide between the arms.

How does the electric recline work?

Press the button on the armrest to recline the back and raise the footrest. Obaby describes the motor as nearly silent, so you can change position while your baby sleeps in your arms.

What can I charge from the chair?

There are USB and USB-C charging ports next to the recline button, so your phone can stay charged within reach.

How far does it swivel?

Obaby lists a 180° swivel for the Teddy colours of the Madison Electric. It also glides on metal ball bearings.

Is the fabric certified?

Yes. Obaby states that the fabric on the Madison Electric in Teddy Ivory is certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
