The T Roll positioning cushion is designed to provide additional support while lying in bed. The T-shaped design helps maintain a stable supine (on the back) sleeping position while providing support for the lower body.

The cushion can be placed beneath the knees or legs to create a comfortable resting position while lying on your back. The shape of the cushion also helps discourage turning during sleep.

How is a T-roll different from a plain positioning roll?

A plain roll or D-roll lies under the knees and can work its way out as you move. The T-roll adds a stem that sits between the legs, so the roll stays under the knees and the legs stay apart. It is the shape used when someone tends to roll over or cross their legs in bed.

Which size do I need, 6 inch or 8 inch?

The 6 inch roll is 15 cm thick and 51 cm wide; the 8 inch is 20 cm thick and 70 cm wide. The roll lies across the bed under the knees, so choose the width that spans the person's hips with a little spare, and the lower roll if a 20 cm knee lift is too much. If an occupational therapist or physiotherapist recommended a T-roll, ask them which size.

Can it be used in a care home or hospital?

Yes. The zipped waterproof cover wipes clean and can be laundered, and the cushion is handmade in Devon by Putnams. It is a positioning cushion, not a medical device, and does not replace a prescribed pressure-care system.

Can a side sleeper use a T-roll?

It is designed for lying on the back. On your side there is nothing for the stem to sit against, so a knee pillow with a strap does that job between the knees instead.
